Meet VibrAlign Trainer, Stan Riddle – VIDEO

My name is Stan Riddle, I’m a trainer for VibrAlign, I’ve been involved in aligning machinery for about 31 years. My background was as a machinist, and a tool and die maker. In the early 80’s I decided that I would get into maintenance because they would never computerize it, and I’ve been pulling wrenches ever since.

I’m a Certified Vibration Analyst, Level III, with the Vibration Institute, Certified Thermographer with infrared. I worked as a vibration analyst for several years, too. The benefit we had was that if we found bad data we’d turn around and grab our tool pouches and went and rebuilt the machine.

I’m actually certified in alignment from…our competition I guess I could say. I have one of their Top Gun certifications in alignment using their tools.

I’ve been a trainer with VibrAlign for about three years now, and I absolutely love it.

Hamidreza, I do not know of an industry standard which specifies when alignment should be checked.

    Hi,
How often the alignment should be rechecked?
I have heard many idea about this question. It is often said regardless the machine is under condition monitoring supervision , after 6 months being in service the pump should be stopped and alignment data should phisycally be measured to see if we have misalignment or not.
It is because the misalignment can not be detected 100% with the help of vibration data taken by CM Guys.We have seen many times that the vibration amounts go down with increasing misalignment.
